Environment: The Taipei office is fairly relaxed, and colleagues get along well. The work environment is good, and the space is large.
Benefits: There are two company trips; you can choose one or attend both by paying the difference. There is also one Family Outing Day, usually to somewhere like a farm. The year-end bonus is one month’s salary, and the year-end banquet is usually a two-day, one-night event.
1. Despite being a foreign company, employees are required to clock in and out (not flexible).
2. There are many old-school Taiwanese-style practices, and the foreign company doesn’t feel very foreign.
3. Salary increases and promotions are slow; what you negotiate when joining is probably what you’ll continue to receive.
4. Traditional industries update slowly, and gradually you may fall behind the times.
