1. The time allocated for the professional assessment was short, while relatively unimportant questionnaires, such as asking about the types of colleagues one likes or dislikes most, took up a very large amount of time. In addition, the references had already been filled out on the résumé form provided by the company, yet they had to be written again. The process was poorly managed, and the waiting time was also long.
2. HR had not done their homework. If the résumé submitted beforehand did not meet the qualifications, there was no need to send an interview invitation, as it wasted both parties’ time. When I received the interview invitation, I suspected that HR had not done their homework because the reply came too quickly. It was later proven that my intuition was correct.
3. HR lacked professionalism. I asked whether annual leave was provided in accordance with the Labor Standards Act because I wanted to understand the company’s policies, but they actually replied that Taipei electronics companies were not violating the Labor Standards Act.... They even asked why I wanted to enter this industry. They said that building a brand in Taiwan was very expensive, and that companies building brands in Taiwan were all struggling. This made the company seem extremely confused about its future direction and unaware of how to build a brand. They could only guarantee 12 months, and when discussing why the company’s products and direction were not right, they kept bringing up the financial crisis. For example, they said they had been working on esports for more than ten years. I asked, “Your company’s esports brand was launched in 2012, right?” They replied, “We had already been considering changing direction before the financial crisis.”
4. For the department’s professional interview, someone from another department unexpectedly conducted it, and some aspects of the job’s planning and direction could not be explained in detail at all. The department and HR gave different explanations regarding flexible working hours.
