1. The hiring manager was very honest and clearly explained that overtime is common when there are events. The latest it would go is midnight, and overtime pay is provided.
2. They clearly explained the salary during the probationary period, as well as some of the rules for distributing bonuses.
1. They asked three separate times, at different points during the interview, why I wanted to apply for this job, which made me feel like they were just trying to fill time.
2. When I was asked some personality-related questions, the interviewer responded by saying, “That doesn’t seem to match your zodiac sign.”
3. The interviewer clearly stated that this job would involve staying up late all the time and would be bad for my skin. They also said, “Looking at your skin, it seems like it’s not very good. Would you be able to accept that?” I felt this was somewhat disrespectful to the interviewee.
4. After seeing my TOEIC score on my résumé, the hiring manager said, “Couldn’t you use this to apply to schools in the United States or the United Kingdom?” Then, after I said that I thought I could get a higher score if I took the test again, they replied, “What use is getting a higher score?”
5. When the hiring manager asked whether I had any questions, I asked what the most difficult part of the job was. Their first reaction was that they had been stumped; only afterward did they casually say things like having enthusiasm was important and that meeting customers’ requirements was necessary.
Conclusion
Maybe I’m being too sensitive, but halfway through my first interview, I already really wanted it to end as soon as possible. Regardless of whether I got the job, I wouldn’t have wanted to accept it. I just felt that a lot of my time had been wasted on many meaningless questions.
