I don’t know if working in a high-end building counts?

Recently, many MINISO stores have been opening across Taiwan.

They mainly sell daily necessities at low prices (similar to Daiso).

I had visited one of their physical stores before and thought it was pretty good, and happened to see that the company was recruiting a Logistics Planning Assistant.

The job involved allocating warehouse goods to each store and handling the scheduling.

The company was located inside a high-end building in Ximending, Taipei.

When I first arrived, I had to fill out two pages of basic information, including questions such as why I wanted to apply for this position.

Since there were other interviewees ahead of me, I had to wait for a while after completing the form before the interview.

At the beginning of the interview, a supervisor (I guessed they were from HR) briefly asked questions such as why I had resigned from my previous job.

I also had to give a brief self-introduction. They explained what the job involved, and seemed like a nice person.

After a short interview, they said that a procurement supervisor would come to interview me later. From then on, I would be working under that procurement supervisor.

When the procurement supervisor came in, they looked over my information,

then said that my previous job had nothing to do with procurement and asked why I had suddenly applied for this position.

They also explained the job to me all over again and repeatedly went on about how it was unrelated to my previous job.

(I thought, do I have to keep doing work related to whatever I did before? Can’t I change career paths???)

In any case, I had no idea what this procurement supervisor came in to do. They just kept saying, in a very rude manner, that I was not suitable for the position,

merely because my previous job was not in a related industry. Less than five minutes after coming in, they told me to wait a moment and then walked out.

After that, the first interviewer came back in and told me that the salary for this position was NT$26,000......

The ironic thing was that posters on the walls of their office boasted about how many stores they had opened and how many billions in revenue the company had.

Overall, it was a very poor interview experience.

Their supervisors probably wanted someone fresh out of school with a blank slate.

And that awful salary left me speechless.

Oh, right—

there is no bonus for the three major holidays, only birthday leave.
