Pros

The HR reception and examination process were very efficient.

The manager had a straightforward personality.

Cons

I had been unemployed for a relatively long time, but I had explained on my résumé my plans for further study during my unemployment and the reasons for my previous departure.

The interview notification I received said that the manager wanted to invite me for an interview after reviewing my résumé. However, when the manager came to conduct the interview that day, he seemed to have no impression of my résumé at all and repeatedly questioned me about my departure and unemployment.

Perhaps I had not written my experience as completely on Quanta’s standardized résumé form as I had on my 104 profile or CV. I only listed my formal work experience, so I could understand this, and I answered patiently. (Next time, I should ask him to turn to the Chinese résumé I attached. The page after Quanta’s standardized résumé form was the English CV I had attached myself. Since HR said the manager placed great importance on English, I put the English CV on the first page, but he seemed unwilling to read it.)

After I finished answering a series of questions about my departure and unemployment, the manager briefly introduced the department’s divisions. He did not ask any questions about my personal experience, and I did not have an opportunity to ask questions either. He only said that he would think about it, and the interview ended.

One week later, I received an interview thank-you letter stating that there was no suitable position.

I feel that if he was so concerned about this issue, they could have conducted a phone interview first instead of making me spend time and money traveling to the interview. People who are unemployed really do not have much budget even for transportation costs to an interview.
