Colleagues have great relationships with one another
You can talk nonsense at work
Lunch breaks are very flexible
Flexible working hours
1. There’s no overtime pay, and exchanging it for compensatory leave would be bad enough—but one month I worked 118 hours of overtime, and then got chewed out for taking compensatory leave!
2. The average production budget for each episode of a web drama is only NT$10,000. What the hell can you produce with that? Do they really think a budget of NT$10,000 per episode can recoup anything?
3. The managers are two-faced—everyone knows it, yet they still lie about it. We all know how much everyone earns, but they still make up nonsense.
4. At first, they’ll let you freely create what you want, but the time is limited—at most a little over a month. If they don’t see results, they immediately shut everything down. Seriously, what kind of results can you produce in a little over a month with video content? Which YouTuber didn’t become popular gradually? If you want immediate profits, why not go into scams?
5. There are six managers and four employees, a 3:2 ratio. In a military unit, how does it make sense for there to be more platoon leaders and senior sergeants than soldiers?
6. Salaries are paid late, and then they blame the shareholders for not paying employees. I’ve never seen shareholders personally pay employees’ salaries—what, is the boss just a puppet?
7. They spend all day thinking they’re Terry Gou. He started from nothing—what about you?
8. There are already very few employees, and we often help one another, yet we still get criticized for it and told to apply for cross-department support???? Do you think your company has 500 employees?
9. We fill out forms every week. Even when they’re basically the same form, there are three or four different versions to complete. Then they don’t even read them?
10. The managers’ efficiency is truly at sloth level.
11. They often badmouth employees who aren’t present.
12. A company of only a few ping needs to install five surveillance cameras, with the excuse that employees might steal company equipment. Why not just ask if you see it in a drawer, for fuck’s sake?
13. A company with fewer than ten employees has a boss, COO, director, editor-in-chief, managing editor, and sales manager? What the hell is that?
14. Employee turnover is insanely high—more outrageous than a restaurant’s table turnover rate.
15. The video equipment is terrible and all from Taobao. After only a few uses, the fluid head on the camera tripod came apart. In the past it was even worse: they used a photography tripod for video recording. How the hell are you supposed to pan with that? The audio equipment is even more shitty; the recording quality is worse than an old cassette recorder.
16. The water is often cut off, and they don’t pay their bills. They owe money everywhere, including the delivery service, and then angrily ask why I have to deal with such trivial matters.
17. I don’t know what the managers’ brains are made of. We finished filming on Sunday, and on Monday they immediately asked me, “Have you finished editing the trailer?????” Bro, I only finished filming yesterday, for fuck’s sake!
18. In one week, one person edited one web drama, one trailer, three video unboxings, and one tech report, while also preparing the next web drama, coordinating schedules, locations, and the budget with the actors, and creating storyboards. Am I Superman?
19. They carelessly throw employees’ belongings on the floor.
20. They bully the kind and fear the aggressive; they tremble when they encounter an intimidating employee.
