旗訊數位股份有限公司
Pros

The company's location is fairly convenient for commuting. Clocking in and out is done on a tablet, so it is easy to clearly keep track of how many hours of overtime you have worked.

The relationships among colleagues are pretty good (limited to entry-level staff), and you also get an early look at quite a few of the latest products.

Cons

Short version:

This company does not provide salary statements, and salaries are often paid late.

(Also, salaries are paid by another company owned by the boss, but the person in charge is not listed under his name, so you cannot apply for a credit card.)

The benefits listed on PTT are all fake. There are no holiday bonuses, and none of the benefits that should be provided are actually available.

The number of employees is nowhere near as high as claimed, and the operations are extremely problematic.

Detailed account:

The people in senior positions are extremely disrespectful of professional expertise.

They treat technical editors like production-line workers,

using standards from twenty years ago to demand that editors write a certain number of words per article in order to count toward performance,

and only caring about word count while ignoring the content and quality. This approach is truly laughable.

The audiovisual department suffers even more. The supervisor has no understanding whatsoever of professional workflows or staffing arrangements,

and demands that the audiovisual department produce at least 2–3 videos a week (even though the available manpower simply cannot manage it),

while the company does not provide any equipment. Photographers even have to use their own equipment to cover for the company.

The supervisor only says, “What’s so difficult about shooting and editing a video? Why does it take so long? Is the output so low because you’re having it too easy?”

When it comes to the sales staff, all they do is tell them to find ways to get money and projects from clients.

But whenever a decision needs to be made and the boss is asked to provide data, he always says he is busy.

The information is delayed for three months at a time, or fake data is provided,

and afterward the sales staff are blamed for having such poor performance.

The graphic designers are treated like disposable workers. Every kind of miscellaneous task is handed to them:

printing, layout, customer service, subscriber management, e-commerce, administration, accounting, attendance tracking, and traffic statistics.

Even when the company's utility bills and management fees have not been paid, the graphic designers are told to handle it.

Deadlines are constantly postponed.

After layouts have already been completed, getting the supervisor to confirm them always drags on until right before they are sent to print, when he says they need to be revised or replaced.

At other times, the supervisor is busy secretly sleeping or playing Ragnarok Online.

The company even thinks graphic designers have it too easy, since they only spend a few days each month laying out the magazine.

Offering you a salary of 26K is treated as an enormous favor.

The articles written by the boss himself have no professional substance and are not fact-checked.

(Previously, he would take screenshots of comments from netizens on PTT and treat them as an article, and he even dared to publish them in the magazine.)

Vendors have already ordered a boycott and do not want to see his articles anymore,

but from time to time he still secretly takes old articles from a year earlier, changes the submission date, and reposts them.

When readers discover this and leave comments on the fan page, he simply ignores and deletes the comments.

The poor entry-level staff are always the ones on the front line taking the brunt of the backlash.

The supervisors are also a major problem. One constantly fills the boss's head with flattery,

while another only shirks and does nothing; as for the rest, nobody knows what they are doing.

They also constantly pass the blame onto their subordinates. They always say one thing and do another.

After being chewed out by a client, they comfort themselves by saying that the client does not know how to appreciate things.

The fact is that everything they handle gets changed into something cheap and lacking in quality, yet they still try to bamboozle clients with empty rhetoric.

It really is a wonderful company—consistently so. It has made no progress at all from beginning to end!
