Pros

The colleagues all get along very well, like brothers and sisters. Even middle and elementary school classmates would be happy just thinking every day about what to eat and what drinks to have.

The colleagues are all around the same age, and do everything together.

Everyone at the junior level is highly capable, and handles things very efficiently.

Basically, during working hours, the supervisor didn’t interfere much (in the past).

You could decide what kinds of snacks you wanted in the snack cabinet (in the past).

Cons

Graphic design,

Within three months of joining, I was moved between three different teams, moved house once, and changed workstations twice.

I changed at least three work forms. Every work form for tasks assigned by the boss was filled out exactly as instructed,

but at the next meeting the boss would still act like a computer that had restarted without saving—as if they understood nothing,

and then scold you, saying you couldn’t do things like that.

The General Affairs team went from initially handling only the magazine subscriber system to later being criticized and scolded even for the company cleaning.

Magazines could be sent by Black Cat, but to save 10 dollars in shipping, they specifically went to a post office one kilometer away,

carried 10 kg of magazines, and waited in line for an hour to send them out (saving just over 100 dollars in total, and not even that much).

Held pointless meetings every day.

Watching the boss find the form they had created would take about 10 minutes,

and then watching them fail to understand the form would take another 5 minutes.

Finally, they would angrily say: “Oh, this isn’t right! This is the wrong way to do it! Listen to me—keep it simple!”

It was extremely baffling.

Everything ultimately had to go through the supervisor’s approval and inspection before being sent out,

but all errors were blamed on the junior staff.

The supervisor would look at you with an O.O expression and blame you for messing things up.

The money was never paid on time; it was always blamed on the shareholders.

The company’s finances clearly had problems: it owed money for rent, utilities, delivery services, and printing fees and didn’t pay them.

None of the benefits mentioned on PTT existed.

Labor and health insurance were not enrolled or paid on time.

I had at least three different business cards made after joining the company.

I had to add a whole bunch of inexplicable QR codes and company mobile numbers for the sales staff.

Whenever an extension changed, the cards had to be revised again.

All the company’s lousy graphic materials came from the supervisor messaging on LINE that day: “Could you take care of this?”

Then you had to make it and give it to them (but they wouldn’t look at it right away either, zzz).

They were extremely bad at scheduling.

The magazine deadlines were only for show. No matter what deadline was agreed upon, the supervisor group would definitely drag things out before showing them to you,

and then, without telling you the deadline had been missed, continue pretending nothing had happened.

Or, after you had done a whole pile of tasks they assigned, they would tell you:

“Because of business needs, none of these are needed anymore. Please immediately change to the next one.”

After finally producing something with a fairly high level of completion, and getting their approval that it was okay to print,

they would take it privately after printing and tell other junior staff that this was how it should not be done.

During the interview,

they would viciously disparage you as worthless, then flatter you and tell you that it was your immense honor that our company was willing to hire you.

Then they would tell the other employees:

“For graphic design jobs, as soon as we post an opening, résumés come in like snowflakes~~”

A supposedly excellent company that disrespects employees and treats them as disposable.

(As an aside, after I left, the company underwent a major renovation and installed surveillance cameras. Truly excellent.)
