The first-round interview with the design supervisor was quite pleasant.
We discussed many ideas about the work, as well as approaches to team communication.
The second-round interview was with the general manager, and the process was extremely infuriating!
The conversation had absolutely nothing to do with the job or my professional expertise. Instead, they kept lecturing me about life philosophy.
They also criticized me for not staying long at my previous jobs. My main job is design, and I have four years of experience.
I stayed at the first company for two years, the second for over a year, and the third for eight months. Were they implying that I’m unstable or something? It was completely nonsensical!
They said I have a strong subjective mindset, yet they kept talking about what they wanted to say and had no interest in listening to me at all.
They also said I should understand the reasons behind the company’s decisions. Am I applying to be a manager at this company?
It was completely steeped in traditional Taiwanese management thinking!
“They even ended by saying: ‘You seem pretty smart, which is why I’ve talked to you this much.’”
In short, the second-round interview was extremely unpleasant and disrespectful! That’s all.
