The air conditioning is very strong because Mr. Chang gets hot easily. Free Yakult is provided. There is a NT$60 lunch subsidy.
Mr. Chang is especially friendly toward patients who are wealthy or attractive, insisting on shaking hands and taking photos with them.
He has no respect for other people's work, constantly interrupting whatever others are doing and, without distinguishing between public and private matters, asking employees to handle his personal errands. He thinks he knows everything and insists that everything be done his way; if it is not done well, he scolds employees for being incompetent.
If Mr. Chang dislikes an employee, he will ask that person to resign even if there are no issues with the employee's work.
He has no sense of time and often arrives late himself, making patients wait for a long time, or suddenly goes out to do personal errands, such as getting a haircut, leaving patients who made appointments and arrived on time waiting for nothing. If patients complain about waiting too long, he blames the nurses and reception staff for not handling things properly.
During consultations, he mostly just boasts about his education and professional experience and has no patience to listen to patients talk about themselves. If the patient is very wealthy, he is more patient.
He forces cooperating vendors to perform tasks they did not originally agree to take on.
He sexually harasses attractive egg donors.
On national holidays, he forces employees to work half-days and then provides compensatory leave. If an overtime form is not filled out, it is not counted as overtime; even if employees clock in, they receive no overtime pay. Employees have no autonomy in choosing when to take leave.
Meal breaks are only half an hour and are not scheduled consistently. Employees may be called away to work at any time, even in the middle of a meal.
There is no standard salary-increase system. Mr. Chang only likes helping people who do personal errands for him, such as burning CDs, buying phone cases, and feeding his goldfish. Job performance does not need to be good; it is enough to know how to curry favor with him.
