The interview was very friendly, and the interviewer was thorough in addressing all aspects of the interviewee’s questions and provided a detailed explanation of the position.
After joining the company, I gradually discovered that the boss actually only makes grand promises, is afraid to make decisions and take responsibility, and says they do not know whenever asked about anything, while pretending to understand everything. An administrative manager who has been there for a long time has influence, but the manager themselves also lacks professional competence. They do not understand technology yet think everything is very simple, saying that it is enough to do this or that, but when asked in depth about professional issues, they again say they do not know.
This manager wants to dabble in everything—business, administration, projects, products, and human resources—but does not do any of them well. Combined with the boss’s incompetence, this often means that substantive improvement suggestions raised with management receive no follow-up. The company also has customer projects that have been overdue for more than a year, yet the boss still only makes grand promises and focuses on bringing in money through tenders, while ignoring the projects owed to customers.
I advise people with ambition or those who want to develop a solid foundation of skills to think carefully before joining. The situation during the interview differs considerably from the situation after starting the job.
