1. At the very beginning, they sent over very standard basic information that had to be filled out and brought along. This was originally supposed to be an advantage that would shorten the interview time, but it did not at all.
2. You have to write a whole stack of tests. The attention-to-detail test and elementary school math problems alone take several pages. The whole thing is just a waste of time. Even if you scored 100, your salary would not be any higher, right?
3. The HR staff did not seem professional.
4. The salary payment arrangements were very strange. It felt like they were afraid people would resign, so they deliberately withheld part of the salary and paid it the following month; the year-end bonus was handled the same way.
5. The labor and health insurance arrangements were outright illegal—they only insured you for NT$22,000. Thinking back to the previous point, on payday they only paid you NT$22,000, as if that were all you earned, and what they gave you later was made to look like a bonus. You still paid income tax as usual, but your labor insurance coverage was very low. In cases such as giving birth, childcare leave, or workplace injuries, you would receive very little.
In the first half, it seemed as though the company had very high expectations of its employees and wanted to understand their level. In the second half, it felt more like they just wanted to finish quickly. The whole process was simply a waste of the interviewee’s time.
