The boss doesn’t want to pay overtime, so there’s no overtime work.
Business is unstable, often alternating between having orders and having none. When there are no orders, the boss immediately lays people off, but is unwilling to pay severance. So when you first join the company, everyone is paid hourly. There are no established policies, and one person is expected to do the work of two or three people. There are no year-end bonuses, company trips, or benefits. The boss and the management department both have princess syndrome.
