There’s a Seven downstairs.
A company in decline... The above is actually an understatement.
The turnover rate over the past two years, calculated together, has exceeded 100%.
The remaining employee benefits are basically gifts for the three major festivals and an average year-end bonus.
There is surveillance, audio monitoring, and possibly even screen monitoring (speculation).
The director and the people above him really do remotely monitor what you are doing and saying, which is extremely uncomfortable. For example, they may call the hotline to tell you to hurry up and work instead of eating breakfast (even though he isn’t in the office), or summon you in to berate you simply because he is unhappy (even though everyone else is eating breakfast while working, checking email, and so on).
There is no overtime pay, and the compensatory-leave system is not on a 1:1 basis. If you do not cooperate with overtime, they will put pressure on you in various ways and use you as an example to intimidate others. The company takes projects from mainland China, and the boss likes to “cooperate” with the client, so overtime is unavoidable.
You will not learn anything from the boss here. The promises made during the interview that you would be guided and given opportunities to learn are mostly just empty assurances. You have to rely on yourself and learn from your colleagues.
