The interview was short and very casual.
Summary first: Don’t waste your time joining this company. Look at the environment, the coworkers, the products, and the salary and working hours (you usually have to go to clients’ sites after work to install systems and equipment, with no overtime pay). The interview form was the most old-fashioned and incomprehensible detailed background investigation I’ve ever filled out. However, within less than ten minutes of arriving, I already knew I wouldn’t want to work for this company—and they wouldn’t have any use for me either.
1. When I arrived to check in, they couldn’t even find out who had notified me to come for the interview. Later, the HR person who had contacted me took me to a meeting room and told me to fill things out without speaking with me at all.
2. The company was chaotic as soon as I walked in. I could hear people laughing and fooling around outside even while I was in the meeting room.
3. The overall environment was very shabby. I filled out the forms alone in the meeting room, with neither the air conditioning nor the fan turned on. With windows on both sides and being on a high floor, I nearly died from the heat.
4. For the English written test, they gave me a middle-school-level passage to translate. I seriously questioned the level of their managers—I might even have been able to interview them in English.
5. They quickly revealed their attitude toward employees: there is no overtime pay. The company’s products are all sold to manufacturers, and installing the equipment and systems requires going there in the middle of the night. If the salary were reasonable, or if they were willing to pay properly, that would be fine—but the salary they offered was insulting as well.
6. It’s not even a large company, yet they didn’t provide any update after the interview. How terrible. A few days later, they even opened my résumé again while continuing to look for people. With that attitude and that salary, there’s no way they can attract talent.
