Pros

1. The hourly wage for part-time workers in northern Taiwan starts at NT$150–160, which is slightly higher.

2. Overtime pay is handled normally.

3. Part-time workers are legally entitled to paid annual leave.

4. Promotions come with a pay increase (approximately NT$3 per level for part-time workers).

Cons

1. Although the pay is slightly higher, whether the workload matches the salary is subjective.

There are times when one person is expected to do the work of two, but it is uncertain whether this happens frequently.

2. Overtime is calculated in 15-minute increments. In practice, being less than 5 minutes late results in a 15-minute deduction, while working less than 15 minutes of overtime does not qualify for overtime pay.

3. Part-time workers are not proactively notified about their paid annual leave. After leaving the job, they must call the head office themselves (it is uncertain whether this has since been changed).

4. The pay increase from promotion is small, for both part-time and full-time workers.

5. With a good supervisor, the work is easy and pleasant; with a bad supervisor, you may not want to go to work every day.

Personal thoughts:

Fixed-store full-time positions — Too tiring and the pay is not very high; the cost-performance ratio is poor, so I do not recommend them.

Rotating full-time positions — The cost-performance ratio is also poor, so I do not recommend them. They may be worth trying if you need money, but personally, I do not consider them a long-term solution.

Part-time positions — Working short shifts at stores with an hourly wage of NT$160 is okay for earning a little spending money.

Long shifts or stores paying NT$140–150 per hour are subjective.
