This was an interview experience from many years ago, so it may not be accurate now. At the time, I forgot whether I had applied myself or whether they had contacted me ... In any case, I originally applied for position A, but during the actual interview, they unexpectedly had a manager from department B come talk to me. We talked for half an hour before realizing that we were completely talking past each other ... I ended up making the trip for nothing.
