Judging only by the base salary, it seems fairly good. The benefits described during the interview and by HR in training were almost perfect. They do not place much emphasis on educational background or experience. The company is registered as having strong foreign capital. Annual leave complies with the Labor Standards Act. The headquarters where training is held in Taipei and the flagship store have fairly decent interiors, although they are somewhat dated. The company places great importance on complying with banking regulations. There is a wide variety of job openings with many different requirements...
This company looks like a foreign company, but it is not. For the same position, it is recommended that you compare the substantial salary differences with other foreign companies. Former management factions dominate their respective spheres. The union has a close relationship with upper management. Believe me, joining will not get you any help. Internal conflict appears calm, but in reality, each department operates independently, attacking and opposing one another.
Back-office work is extremely burdensome, and overtime is frequent; you cannot leave work until everything is finished. Overtime pay? Previously, a colleague kept evidence and filed a complaint with the labor bureau, and had a chance of receiving it. Because staffing was streamlined and manpower is insufficient, your supervisor may be a newcomer to the unit and may frequently write improvement plans. Year-end bonuses depend on performance evaluations.
Positions in the business units require extensive connections. It is difficult to survive without acquiring enough clients through business development. After completing business with clients, you may receive a little data; once enough data has accumulated, it is converted into money. However, if you fail to meet your targets each quarter, the company will claw back part of what it paid you. The business units do not have year-end bonuses. There are intensive, exhausting demands to meet performance targets. Supervisors can only provide operating procedures that comply with company regulations; everything else depends on you. Your supervisor may require documentation for sick leave, and will look at your performance when approving annual leave. There are monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual evaluations. If you fail to meet your targets, you will be let go.
The turnover rate among new employees is high. There are relatively few experienced employees, but there may be opportunities for career changes. You can look up the company in the news and prepare yourself mentally. Ask yourself whether you have strong abilities, excellent stress tolerance and EQ, and extensive connections. If so, you can certainly join and learn what society is like.
