1. Interview directly with the two future supervisors. The interview is conducted in a conversational manner, which makes it feel more relaxed. You can also get a clearer sense of whether the supervisors’ personalities are compatible with yours.
2. The environment looks quite good. Every 2–3 employees are provided with a separate workspace (ideal for those who like working in a quiet environment).
3. The job responsibilities are explained clearly during the interview.
1. I submitted my résumé only the day before and immediately received a notice the next day asking me to travel north for an interview that same day (and they would not allow the interview time to be changed).
2. Upon arrival, I was immediately given a one-hour written test (choose one of several financial or economic news topics for an essay). This was followed by an English-to-Chinese news release translation test (half of it consisted of technical terms, so applicants who were not majoring in a related field or had not read relevant English reports would not be able to complete it. However, the content of the news release might be related to a research project you would work on later).
3. Two months later, I received a job offer from this company, and they required me to reply within one week as to whether I could start working within half a month (everything was so sudden and rushed....)
