The colleagues are nice.
1. Policies and systems change constantly, entirely depending on the boss's mood, leaving employees without any security (there are currently no provisions whatsoever for salary increases, promotions, or benefits).
2. Senior management acts on impulse and often suppresses employees through various means (including both direct verbal abuse and indirect underhanded tactics).
3. A lot of time is spent on maneuvering and socializing, leaving relatively little focus on academic research.
Summary: It may serve as a short-term stepping stone, but in the long term there is little room for development, and people come and go.
