Pros

1. Basically, store staff get bonuses, but you may not necessarily receive them.

2. Come here if you want to slack off or have no plans.

3. The company gives you unappetizing gifts for the three major holidays.

4. The boss gives you scratch-off lottery tickets for the Lunar New Year.

5. You may occasionally meet customers who are more educational than the boss or the boss's wife.

Cons

If you are reading this, it means you have doubts about this company. So, as the person who has worked the longest at one of this company's stores, let me tell you.

1. Don't waste your life. This is a company with no clear rules. Benefits and punishments all depend on the boss's personal mood, and “orders changing overnight” is a perfect description.

Here is an example: Although there appear to be several rules at the store where I work, no one strictly enforces them. Even when there is a shortage in the cash register and a fine is imposed, the coworker who makes the biggest fuss gets preferential treatment—the fine is actually returned? What kind of rule is that? If there is no punishment today, naturally there is no reward. Don't think this company will give you anything just because you have made great contributions. The conclusion is that you will leave empty-handed and learn nothing.

2. Once you join this store, you will have endless work to do, with equal pay for unequal work.

Let me talk about the store staff. Everyone schemes to get those bonuses worth a few hundred dollars, while the bonus system is changed again and again, and no one is willing to unite. So they can only frame one another, gossip, and curse each other. You may ask whether I have cursed at people. Of course I have! For example, I have two coworkers who have been here for half a year and still cannot even enter simple computer-processed work documents. What do you think they do during their shifts? They gossip, curse at others, watch baseball, watch shows, and play mahjong.

3. The atmosphere at the store is bad, and the company's internal environment is even more frightening. All I can say is that I admire how calculating the boss's wife is—you cannot see how dark people's hearts can be! I often ask questions that former good coworkers did not dare to ask. Guess what they are. For example: Are hourly wages being adjusted? Can we take our annual leave now? What about overtime pay? Is there an annual bonus? Don't doubt it: you will not be told about these simple questions that can be answered by looking up the Labor Standards Act unless you ask yourself!

1) One coworker who joined at the same time as me was hired at an hourly wage of 130. The company only paid her 120 for the first three months. I repeatedly urged her to ask about her rights. The company replied, “You get what was stated; it will be adjusted next month. The company adjusts wages every three months.” But everyone else who joined at the same time was already earning 140 per hour, and she was only then raised to 130.

2) One month, there was a staff shortage, so I had one fewer day off and worked countless hours of overtime for the store. You may ask why my coworkers did not help share the early and late shifts. I will tell you why: no one wanted to lose a day off. Don't doubt it—no one! I asked whether I would receive overtime pay for working a full day of overtime. The boss's wife replied, “For now, the company mainly provides compensatory leave. We cannot let you exchange it for overtime pay. Please use up the compensatory leave by the end of the year.” I asked why it could not be exchanged for overtime pay. The answer was simply that the company had no such plan.

3) You will not receive an annual bonus at this company. Whether you get one depends on the company's assessment of your annual contribution (basically, they give you a 2,000 red envelope for the New Year). When I asked when we would know, the company replied, “We will not short you what you deserve. You are asking too many questions now. We don't know when it can be confirmed.”

Do you now understand how speechless this company can leave you?

4. The accountant cannot tolerate or forgive anyone else's mistakes, but whenever she makes an oversight or omission, she begins describing at length how hard and exhausted she is, while making the store staff constantly remind her about the same things. If you want to come here, prepare 200% patience and come to work with your health bar completely full, or you will quickly be the first one killed.

5. I don't know whether the boss's wife uses sowing discord as a tactic or a skill. She does not allow you to ask too many questions or know too much; whatever she says goes. If you accidentally get on her bad side, she will do everything possible to get rid of you—not fire you, but “threaten” you into resigning voluntarily. She will blow things up, and of course, as ordinary employees concerned about our résumés and futures, are we really likely to pick a fight with her?

6. Don't think working at the store is easy. You cannot truly open up to your coworkers! Everyone acts in their own interests. We work in a department store, so besides selling, we also have to organize things. But apart from selling, no one is willing to organize anything. Several coworkers over 30 think they are the senior figures, and no one will pay attention when you say something needs to be organized or cleaned. Do it yourself!!

7. Store staff bring family members (girlfriends) to the counter to keep them company during their shifts. You may ask, “What's wrong with that?” Of course it is allowed, but a coworker's girlfriend sits in the only chair all day; the trash from everything she eats all day is piled up in the trash can and left there without being thrown away; she blocks the counter and helps receive customers. Don't doubt it—you will feel like a junior assistant rather than a store employee, with no respect.

8. Next, watch what you say and do. There are several audio-recording surveillance cameras at the store that are as clear as a reality show. The boss's wife also has loyal informants who will report on you. “Watch what you say and do”—those four words are a motto here!!

9. You may say I am repaying resentment with resentment. I am not, because this is a company that would not help you even if you put it on your résumé, so I choose not to list it.

10. Don't go to the boss about everything. He will reply, “Solve it yourself; just discuss it and reach an agreement.” What will she help you with? He only wants you to make money for the company.

11. Once you are hired, don't think you are joining a company where you will be well taken care of. Once you are targeted, you may be fired just for asking for leave. For the sake of your future, don't leave your youth blank here—or where do you think all these bad reviews come from?
