飛宇高新科技股份有限公司
Pros

I worked at this company a few years ago, but not for very long. I got along quite well with my colleagues there. There were not many employees, but everyone was good at taking care of one another. The company had a snack cabinet and a refrigerator with drinks that employees could take. However, these were paid for through a monthly welfare fee deducted from employees’ salaries. I remember it was either 300 or 500, but I’m not entirely sure. The offerings for the Pudu worship ceremonies were handled the same way. However, office staff were more likely to use them, while field engineers used them less often. The company had air conditioning, so it was quite comfortable.

At the time, the company mainly worked on e-commerce for institutional cooperatives. In schools, for example, it used student IDs as a payment function similar to an EasyCard, making it more convenient for students to shop at the cooperative.

Cons

I was a field engineer at first. I was initially in the learning stage, becoming familiar with the system and helping process customer data updates. These could be handled remotely, but if a customer had no internet access, I had to go to the site. I could only work independently after I had learned enough. At the time, there was another senior engineer, and he handled all the more distant field assignments by himself, such as those for customers in central and southern Taiwan.

I remember one incident that made me feel quite uncomfortable. At the time, I was asked to try handling a simple update case on my own. The assignment was to go to Yang X Senior High School nearby to help update some data. I remember it was raining heavily that day, and I rode there alone. After finishing the work, I returned to the company to report on it, only to be handed a resignation form by an administrative assistant and told to fill it out. She said, “The boss says you’re not very suitable for the job,” and asked me to resign.

Perhaps I was young at the time and did not know how to protect my own rights. After all, I was a newcomer to the workforce, so I foolishly filled it out without asking how my remaining wages would be calculated. After I got home, I told my parents. Having more life experience, they immediately said, “Make sure you get paid for the time you worked!” Only then did I call the company to ask for my wages. I think that if I had not insisted, the company probably would have pretended nothing had happened. A few days later, when I returned to the company to collect the wages owed to me, I saw a new young engineer there after only a few days. I suddenly understood: a new job applicant had arrived, which was why they had hurriedly asked me to resign.

Looking back, I feel that the company was quite unethical. That is why I gave it a poor rating.
