Officially, they say you can arrive early and leave early, but there are actually unspoken rules: arriving at 8:00 means being the first to open the door, and leaving at 19:30 is already considered late, yet your supervisor will still deliberately make things difficult for you. Promotions are difficult, as the positions are all occupied by veteran employees, so the turnover rate among younger people is high. They are always hiring (anyone under 35 counts as young... people keep coming and going). The working hours are excessively long; at the longest, I worked up to 24 hours without sleeping, rushing drawings at the company. (Because the supervisor does not want to see you leave work on time, even when the client has not requested any changes, the supervisor still makes you redraw things repeatedly.) If a proposal does not go smoothly, the blame is pushed down from the top onto the PM, and then the PM blames the people at the bottom. (In reality, the proposal is mainly handled by the director and PM; people lower down have no right to speak but still have to take the blame.) Oh, and there is no overtime pay~ only a NT$120 meal allowance.
