On 11/1, during the call, they kept questioning me and saying that because I live in another county/city, there would be difficulties and it wouldn’t work, and so on (then why call me in the first place?). They then started talking about the company’s connections with government agencies and how it had been commissioned by government agencies to do various things. After that, they began saying that their own hot springs were excellent, and that many people came there and were happy and felt blessed. They then asked whether I had LINE and if they could add me. I didn’t dare refuse because I was afraid that doing so would cost me the interview opportunity, so I added them on LINE. It turned out that they weren’t discussing an interview time at all, but were instead sending me a bunch of advertorial news articles about the company. I only replied, “So, are we going to have an interview?” They replied, “We’ll arrange it later.”

It wasn’t until 11/11 that I pointed out that this was clearly using the name of an interview to actually conduct sales promotion. The other party immediately asked me to send my personal résumé and information again, saying that they would “REVIEW” them before arranging an interview time. Then what was the point of the initial phone call? Why call me at all? Why not properly review my résumé from the beginning and then decide whether to interview me? Why go around in such a big circle just to talk about how great the company is—what else could the purpose be? If they want to promote their business, they could just create a Facebook page and post whatever they want without paying anything. Why specifically use a job bank to carry out sales promotion?
