I had been at the Banqiao store for less than three months.

I had just started working as an administrative assistant.

During my first month, the senior coworker training me went on maternity leave.

That left me to figure out on my own what I was supposed to do every day.

Administration and warehouse management have it the worst every month.

You’re responsible for taking meeting minutes and ordering breakfast.

There are five meetings every month, and you’re not allowed to take the day off. Even if you’re on leave, you still have to come in for the meeting. You have to arrive at 8 a.m. and may not get off work until as late as 11 p.m. Then, on top of ordering lunch boxes every day, the employees inside will complain that the food you ordered tastes terrible.

The administrative assistant also has to handle money and sign a guarantor promissory note starting at NT$200,000. If any money is missing, they’ll make you pay for it (even though the store manager and the supervisor in the green polo shirt also handled it).

In short, one day during a meeting, the store manager suddenly asked me why the information for a certain project hadn’t been updated. The problem was that no one had handed this over to me in the first place—how was I supposed to update it? And no one was willing to teach me how to do it.

Then, for no apparent reason, they told me not to come back.

I had originally applied for a store specialist position, but they asked me to work as an assistant instead.

When they wanted to transfer me to the store while also having me continue as an assistant, they simply told me not to come back.

What the fuck do you take me for? Manager Wang of the Banqiao store, fuck you.

The employees there were also of very poor quality. The younger ones had terrible attitudes, and the auto repair shop goes without saying—everyone acted like a thug. Chewing betel nuts, smoking, and drinking in the office were completely commonplace.
