I interviewed for a marketing-related position.
Throughout the process, the manager kept labeling me.
They kept nitpicking the content of my résumé.
They said that I had little relevant prior experience and was not a graduate of a related field...among other things.
After I proactively asked for a salary 1K–2K higher than at my previous company,
they asked me to emphasize where my value lay and why I deserved a raise (Huh? I haven't even joined the company yet...this is just an interview salary discussion, right?)
In short...if they had issues with my experience and résumé,
they probably could have just not invited me to interview, rather than wasting both our time.
