The work atmosphere in Production Department 2, Manufacturing Section 2 at Plant 2 is very poor, and coworkers often have conflicts with one another. Verbal attacks are commonplace (including three-character insults and even longer insults), and even if you keep quiet and stay out of things, they will still smear you behind your back. You can often see them gathering together to gossip about others. Most seriously, apart from personal attacks, a senior male employee on the X-labeling machine line will attack people with mineral water bottles, cardboard boxes, etc., if he thinks you have spoken badly about him, betrayed him, or failed to follow his advice—regardless of gender. A senior female employee in X-inspection attacks people with her voice every day; you can see her losing her temper almost daily. If a machine operator makes a mistake, she can yell loudly enough for the entire manufacturing site to hear (even minor mistakes are unacceptable, and she can somehow get angry even when it is not her machine). If you work as an X-inspection staff member like her, she will have a great many opinions about your work. If things do not go her way, she will also resort to verbal attacks, constantly looking for trouble, including over matters unrelated to her. The supervisor knows about all of these issues but has no intention of dealing with them. There is clearly no plan to transfer these people to other departments, so unless you have very high emotional intelligence, it is difficult to stay there.
