A decrepit, run-down place—a traditional manufacturing company living off its past successes. I will absolutely never buy this company's cheap, lousy speakers again.
I could already sense the extreme lack of respect from the moment HR called me.
The technical manager spewed a bunch of programming jargon, but was completely clueless about music knowledge and audio hardware know-how, while being overly impressed by computer science credentials.
They said that computer science graduates start at 50,000 at our company; when I asked about the salary, they started pretending not to understand anything.
They nitpicked my résumé just to lowball me, to show off their poor speaking skills, rather than genuinely screening for suitable candidates.
They want to make an app, but are hiring only one app engineer—a setup where they dump everything under the sun on you and work you to death.
When the general manager saw my résumé, they had this bootlicking manager call to invite me to a second interview. I turned it down immediately; I don't want to work with this manager.
To sum it up in one word: terrible.
