The atmosphere is fairly pleasant, and most colleagues are easy to get along with… at least those who actually do their jobs won’t play palace-intrigue games with you.
If you want to learn, everyone is quite willing to teach—but you have to ask someone who really has sense (usually not the kind of person who speaks very loudly and insists that everyone listen to her opinions).
There are people who get things done, of course, and there are also people who don’t—and unfortunately, the latter… well.
There’s no point going into too much detail, but the company probably lost around 10–14 people in the first half of this year (when the company had the most employees, there were a little over 50), more than half of them from the sales department.
The reason people left was that the sales manager had very poor emotional control and was extremely controlling. She told a new employee who had already submitted her resignation, “Finish up today and get the hell out of here!” (In fact, the employee’s resignation date was only three days later, and no one had yet been found to cover her work.) She also once accused, without any evidence, a salesperson who had been there for over a year of browsing non-work-related websites during office hours, then made him sign meeting minutes stating, “If you do it again, you’ll be fined NT$10,000.”
Absolutely outrageous.
(As for the person involved? He refused to sign and submitted his resignation letter that very day.)
Overall, I wouldn’t say this is a company worth joining. But after having stayed here for so long, I can’t completely say there were no pleasant memories either, so I’ll give it an average rating.
