Pros

- Colleagues across departments get along extremely well and help one another

- A good place for newcomers to develop patience and gain learning experience

Because they especially love hiring recent graduates, projects and tasks have unlimited revisions and extensions

You have to learn and be able to do everything, covering all kinds of work

Cons

- There is no clear division of responsibilities; work is assigned entirely according to the boss’s ideas at the time

Work assignments can also be quickly changed when the boss’s ideas change

- A small company run by a married couple, with fewer than 10 employees; extremely high staff turnover and an extremely high proportion of layoffs

- If you make a mistake “once,” the boss and the boss’s wife will say on the surface that it’s fine, but will bring it up countless times afterward

However, when the boss and his wife make mistakes, it is simply attributed to the older generation’s poor memory, and considered perfectly reasonable as long as it is corrected

- Policies cannot be questioned; you can only fulfill the mission no matter what

- Meetings are devoted to talking about the company’s history and never produce any conclusions. They do things just for the sake of doing them, do not treat employees’ opinions as opinions, and consider employees who offer suggestions to be overly persistent and stubborn—those employees can expect to be laid off

- The boss often goes out, but always looks for employees to discuss matters with just before lunch or before the end of the workday, interfering with employees’ break time and time off work (with no overtime pay)

- The boss and his wife are extremely emotional and take their emotions out on employees; nothing employees do is right

- The boss and his wife often have different ideas. Things that could clearly be completed once must be revised again, after which they say employees are inefficient

- At first, they made it sound good by saying that sick leave would not be unpaid, but afterward they would offset it against employees’ business-trip leave or annual leave

- They emphasize that annual leave must be fully used, but the company does not provide payment in lieu for unused annual leave

- There is no system to speak of; benefits are determined by the boss’s mood at the time. When the mood is good, benefits may increase slightly; when the mood is bad, benefits are cut and they start finding fault with employees
