Pros

The company environment is very good.

The interviewers were very friendly.

The salary is pretty good.

You can tell that the company has worked very hard to create a great Taiwan Star atmosphere.

Cons

Before the interview, you have to complete three aptitude tests at home, which takes at least an hour and a half.

The interview was divided into two stages. First, I took an English test (similar to the TOEIC). After I had been taking the test for almost an hour, the testing system suddenly crashed. I notified HR for help, and HR wore an expression that suggested this was something they were used to, saying, “Oh, it looks like the internet disconnected. You’ll have to take the test again.” So I started over and continued taking the test.

The second stage consisted of interviews with three managers. During the interviews, you could tell that there was serious infighting among the managers. By the time the interview ended, it was after 8 p.m. Four hours in total, and the department managers still hadn’t left; there were also many people working overtime outside!

Then I received another notification from a manager that I would have to take part in a second group interview with senior executives, scheduled for around 7 p.m. The tedious, bureaucratic interview process alone, along with the seemingly routine overtime culture, was enough to make me afraid.
