The boss comes into the office very late every day
The boss is really fucking difficult to communicate with.
She only takes on difficult, crappy clients and works desperately hard to curry favor with them.
She quotes clients arbitrary prices, then turns around and cuts the vendors’ pay.
One time, she told us to cut the price, slashing off the entire fractional amount while still requiring the price to include tax.
The vendor said that the price she had offered was already fair and asked us not to cut it recklessly—to avoid cutting it so much that people would be upset, because then there would be no future business.
The company has very little structure. On the first morning of every new employee’s first day, they just sit around staring into space, waiting for the boss to come into the office.
A client can ask for a quotation and wait several months. Every time a client calls, the first thing they ask is, “Has the boss come into the office yet?” It’s really fucking ridiculous.
Nothing ever changes; they never stop to think about why people can’t stay.
