Colleagues are generally nice, but there is severe infighting among managers.
1. You have to clock in at work; leaving too early will get you blacklisted.
2. The salary and benefits are not considered high in the telecommunications industry. There is also no overtime pay or compensatory leave. Especially recently, as the company is striving to turn its revenue positive, there is little room for salary negotiation.
3. The turnover rate is extremely high—to the point that managers at other companies say they constantly receive large numbers of résumés from people who have left Taiwan Star.
4. Psychological test results are valued more highly than ability.
5. There are a great many extra activities unrelated to work, and you will also be viewed negatively if you do not participate.
