Applicants for sales positions must go to the head office. Interviews are conducted in groups, and at the time, my friend and I did not enter the interview room until very late—close to five or six o’clock. Each person is interviewed by a different manager, who discusses your résumé, future plans, and so on. The situation varies depending on the manager conducting the interview. If you pass the first-round interview at the head office, they will tell you which branch to go to for another interview and a trial experience. You are paid for that day of trial work.

At my branch interview, the branch manager saw that I was a woman and invited me into the meeting room. Based on my résumé, the manager asked me many questions. Since my previous company was also related to real estate brokerage, the manager asked whether I would take customer information with me, about personal data protection laws, and similar matters, expressing concern that I might poach clients from a competitor and questioning my character. The manager then asked me to go home and wait for notification.

About three working days later, I proactively called the branch manager to ask about the interview result. The manager directly told me: “I had already told the head office that I didn’t want a female salesperson, but I don’t know why the head office still assigned you to our branch.”

After hearing that, I felt that Sinyi Realty was terrible! They wasted an entire day of my time on the head-office interview, then wasted my second day at the branch, and also questioned my character.
