The company has no main entrance, just a small door with stairs leading upstairs. The second floor is a photography studio, and when I reached the third floor I was shocked—it looked like an office that was only halfway through its renovation. The person who called me to arrange the interview didn't even know who had arrived at what time. There was no air conditioning, so they brought in an electric fan and pointed it directly at me while writing down information for their internal résumé.

I waited until I was sweating profusely before an employee finally finished a meeting and the meeting room became available for the interview.

The supervisor came over without knowing who the interviewee was and immediately asked, "What's your name?" Then they pulled my résumé out of a stack. They hadn't looked at my information beforehand, and after making some small talk about my personal affairs, they started discussing business.

They said that what made this position different from those at other companies was that I would learn things in great depth, become highly skilled, and so on. Then they said that the going rate for this job in Taiwan was NT$22,000–23,000 per month. Hearing that made me feel completely sick. I immediately replied that it was fine and that I would pass. The supervisor then awkwardly tried to persuade me to reconsider by saying that my home was very close, but I firmly and politely said it was fine, and the interview ended.

Conclusion:

A self-important company that doesn't know how to respect people.

The salary on the job bank was listed as "negotiable," but they had already decided to hire someone at the minimum wage and didn't dare state it, wasting other people's time.
