The interview made you feel that you would be hired and that you were the kind of talent they were looking for.
Initially, I interviewed for the position of Software Sales System Engineer (Backend).
Whether I was hired depended on an aptitude test. At the time, I took two types of tests.
I interviewed on Friday, they sent me the tests on Monday, and I returned them on Tuesday.
I waited for almost a week but still didn’t receive any notification. It wasn’t until I emailed them that they told me I had failed the tests.
They said that HR had given them the test results, and that they had overstepped their authority and tried to get me in, but because of the scores, they were very sorry...
At that moment, I felt extremely xxxx.
It felt like I had lost to an aptitude test rather than a programming test.
Using an aptitude test to determine someone’s suitability seems really problematic! Although every company has different rules, can these results really be trusted?
