The company benefits are good, and the colleagues are easy to get along with.
The company has different departments, so I’m sharing my experience from the Logistics Department.
1. New hires (especially recent graduates) mostly join the company at a salary of NT$26,000. After deductions for labor and health insurance, there is actually not much left.
2. Annual salary adjustments are actually based on the supervisor’s subjective personal evaluation. Many people receive raises of only a few hundred dollars, and employees have no way of knowing the evaluation criteria.
3. The guaranteed 14 months of salary is the most attractive aspect, but the prerequisite is that you have to make it through the first year.
4. There is no training for new hires. When you start work, you have to quickly familiarize yourself with the situation because you are expected to work independently right away.
5. The work is extremely demanding, and the supervisors are terrible—these are reasons many people resign! The company has previously been inspected by the labor authorities because employees were made to work overtime. Company supervisors even believe there is excess manpower, yet on-site operators and customer service staff frequently work overtime.
P.S. Recently, senior management announced a new overtime policy to CS. It sounds like consideration for employees, but in reality it reduces overtime allowances and violates the Labor Standards Act. Great job, great job!
6. Decisions are often changed as soon as they are made. Job transfers or changes to the work location are often decided today and take effect tomorrow.
7. To join the company, you have to attach yourself to the right influential person. If you choose correctly, your work can be very easy, and it does not matter even if you make mistakes. If you choose the wrong person—or disdain currying favor—you may very well become the next A-Xin. Favoritism and work assignments are entirely at the supervisor’s whim.
