私立漢英文理短期補習班

1. No overtime: Because the director wants to get home on time.

2. Plenty of opportunities to meet new colleagues: On average, you can meet a new colleague every few days at the quickest, increasing opportunities for interaction.

3. Stable salary: Low likelihood of a raise.

4. What is a year-end bonus? Is it tasty?

Cons

A brief discussion of this cram school from several perspectives

Regarding teaching staff:

The administrative staff here rank higher than the teachers; this is explicitly documented. They may rudely open the door at any time to yell at students, or directly interrupt a class to announce something. If the director takes issue with a teacher, they will even berate them outright—apparently, this is all considered normal.

What is needed here is not teachers with a passion for teaching, but teaching staff who can be used by the director at any time as a pretext for recruitment and who “follow” the cram school's administrative regulations. Otherwise, your continued employment is decided entirely according to their mood. Some classes are also organized in complete disarray. For example, one English class advertises level-based instruction, but in practice has no criteria for determining levels; all that matters is whether they can enroll more students.

Regarding administrative staff:

Since there are not many full-time employees, everyone has many administrative and student-recruitment duties to handle every day. You also need to regularly plan various activities, large and small, to attract students, so the workload discussed during the interview may differ greatly from what you actually face after starting work.

Here, besides having to endure the director's unpredictable temper, you must also become an employee who can perfectly follow their rules and complete their demands at any time. Otherwise, until the day you leave, you will have to endure being treated like livestock and yelled for every day. You cannot express any opinions, because to the all-powerful, all-knowing director, that would be a grave act of disrespect. If you have unfinished work, take it home to finish or clock in early. Of course, there is no additional overtime pay; after all, if you cannot complete the supervisor's demands within a day,

that is naturally the employee's problem~

Raises depend on the owner's mood, so you might as well assume there are none.

Regarding part-time workers and tutoring instructors:

In principle, they are the administrative staff's assistants. If you are a tutoring instructor, there is rarely one-on-one tutoring here. At most, you may need to tutor more than a dozen students at once, teach lessons and prepare questions, and help clean the classroom after class. When there is nothing else to do, you may be asked to assist with other administrative tasks (e.g., handing out flyers), or you may simply be told not to come in for certain weeks. If you are a part-time worker who supervises classes or works at the front desk on weekends, in addition to supervising classes, you will naturally have plenty of weekend student-tutoring duties. Recruiting by phone will also be one of your main responsibilities. Likewise, you work whenever they tell you to; when there is nothing to do, you may be scheduled for fewer than two shifts a month. Be prepared to answer the director's calls at any time on your days off. It will either be a notice to come to work or a tirade.

Regarding the facilities:

According to the New Taipei City Cram School Information Management System, this cram school's legally approved premises are the first floor at No. 6, Lane 81, Zhongping Road, Xinzhuang District, with two classrooms, two classes, and 30 students. However, it illegally uses several basement classrooms for teaching. The cram school's flyers also show that the number of classes it operates clearly does not match its application. In addition, during the fire-safety inspections conducted every six months, only the first floor is inspected; the officials conducting the on-site inspection directly skip the basement, clearly indicating that they are shielding the school. Multiple reports have been ineffective, demonstrating the owner's practiced and dependable behind-the-scenes maneuvering.

To summarize: if you are an M (or have the potential to become one), a corporate wage slave, a super salesperson confident you can recruit several students every month (but with meager commissions), someone interested in shouting at and physically punishing students, someone who only wants a larger workload and no raise, or someone willing to become an accomplice to illegal business operations, then great! Congratulations—this cram school is the perfect choice for you. Just send in your résumé.
