2. The profitable BUs offer fairly good compensation for the industry; the unprofitable BUs are worse than first-tier system manufacturers when working hours are taken into account.
1. Work is extremely freewheeling—in other words, there are no systems in place and responsibilities and authority are unclear.
2. Other than competing for orders with low prices, there are no other strategies. In low-gross-margin markets (TV SoCs), there are even IC projects with gross margins below 15%; they cannot possibly be profitable once personnel costs are included.
3. Benefits and conditions in general have declined severely: restaurant prices have increased, flexible leave has been reduced, and on the personnel side, unprofitable BUs do not replace employees when positions become vacant and are instead heavily increasing the use of contract workers.
4. Overall, profitable BUs such as WiFi and RDC are worth considering; absolutely do not join unprofitable BUs. If you are only there to gain experience, plan your career in advance, and do not be lured in by the grand promises made by managers. At present, one business group in WiFi and the TV division are both alternating between good and bad periods. Be sure to ask clearly before joining!!
