The mistress incident actually had no major impact on you or me. It was just like the cases involving Jackie Chan, Giddens Ko, and a whole bunch of entertainers: even if the other person moved from being a third-year mistress to a fourth-year mistress and continued until graduating from university, it still had nothing to do with either of us. The perpetrator is sending the message that as long as someone has the ability and connections, they can toy with any girl without paying any price. This idea will create a copycat effect: once there is a first leader, there will absolutely be a second follower!

The aftermath of the Cheng Chieh incident produced this effect; during that period, we often heard news about someone taking a knife onto the MRT.

Coincidentally, the perpetrator also happened to live in Jiangzicui, not too far from Cheng Chieh’s home.
