Occasionally, employee gatherings include really good food.
Don’t even think about taking Labor Day off. They say they’ll pay overtime, but if you dare apply for it, you’re as good as dead (office staff don’t get overtime pay because they’re on a responsibility-based system, but everyone really likes working overtime because if you leave on time, the others will treat you like a weirdo).
The workload is unevenly distributed, and there are tons of gray areas. Once you’ve been there long enough, you can slack off; newcomers, on the other hand, are worked to death and made to take the blame. You’re wrong if you think your supervisor will have your back—you can only pray that they won’t stab you in the back (the bosses seem to think, “I’m paying you; will doing a little more really kill you?”). The bosses have deeply held religious beliefs, so in addition to your regular work, you’ll also have to spend (quite a lot of) time doing various religion-related odd jobs. Sometimes it’s impossible to tell which task is more important. If you don’t meet their expectations, there will be a lot of bad karma, so be careful.
