You can tell that the work environment is good; otherwise, I wouldn’t have submitted my résumé and come for an interview.
I originally applied for Position A, but from the moment HR received me, I started having a bad feeling. While I was filling out the forms, I heard the interviewing manager and HR murmuring, “OK, let’s interview first.” Around the middle to latter part of the interview, they began asking whether I could accept the duties of Position B. At first, I didn’t think much of it. After the interview ended, I continued filling out the forms, and the manager started murmuring with HR again. After HR collected the forms, they quietly came over and said that Position A was already fully staffed, asking whether I wanted to accept Position B instead (?!).
Please, be reasonable. It had only been two days since you notified me to come in. You’d better not tell me you didn’t know in advance that the position was already fully staffed. Couldn’t you have informed the job applicant earlier? Or are the positions posted online merely a guise to help fill positions that are more difficult to recruit for?
In short, it felt terrible—very much like I had been deceived. I would rather have been politely rejected on the grounds that I might not be suitable or something. There was no need to interview me, tell me everything was arranged, and even discuss when I could start, only to change the story at the end.
I don’t know whether the other branches are like this as well. In any case, I’ll still be a customer of this company in the future, but as for becoming an employee or helping the company recruit people to work here—no thanks. Thank you.
