Less pressure in traditional industries
Promotions and raises depend on whether you have a good relationship with senior managers. The pay is mediocre, and you are often required to be assigned to mainland China or Southeast Asia; you only receive travel allowances. Managers generally do not do much, but those who get promoted are always managers. The IT department is often short-staffed, but the boss places the least importance on information technology, resulting in high turnover in IT.
