I previously interviewed for a marketing position. There was no overtime pay, no compensatory leave, and it was entirely a deemed-responsibility system: if something went wrong, you were responsible for returning to the company and working overtime yourself, but it could not be counted as overtime.

The interviewing manager was more than twenty minutes late and did not even apologize, showing no sense that they had done anything wrong.

Although the actual interview process was not particularly bad, the company’s concepts of punctuality and respect for interviewees still need improvement.
