Overall, the interview process felt positive. During the Chinese-language interview, the interviewer carefully asked about the industry and region the job seeker hoped to work in, took the time to understand the job seeker’s needs, and provided suggestions and recommendations. Her attitude was also very good. I think the biggest advantage is that they recommend positions for you to apply for and, based on their staffing company’s statistical experience, tell you approximately what salary range to expect.

The Japanese person responsible for the Japanese-language interview had a very poor attitude!!! In my case, she asked me to list my strengths and weaknesses. For the weaknesses, I explained that I am physically more sensitive to the cold, so I may be more likely to catch a cold when the weather is colder or a cold front arrives. In a very unpleasant tone, she insisted that this meant I did not know how to manage my own health. I slowly explained again that I am simply more sensitive to the cold due to my constitution, but the Japanese person responsible for the interview immediately said again in a very harsh tone, “That’s exactly why you don’t know how to manage your own health!!” At that point, I didn’t know what to say (does she never catch a cold?). However, the Japanese interviewer did also point out some weaknesses in my Japanese speaking skills, and I think that part was fine.
