The female general manager believes the company’s product—the app—is tailor-made for “her.” Not only must every playlist suit her preferences, but if the platform does not have a song she wants, she will ask an intern to download it illegally (e.g., from NetEase Cloud Music in mainland China) and upload it, disregarding intellectual property rights. The male manager responsible for copyright not only remains silent but also agrees (because he likewise lacks knowledge and common sense regarding music copyrights). Once, when they were caught by a record company, they shifted the blame to the intern. By the way, they are not afraid of being sued; they say they have the formidable Foxconn legal team.
