About ten years ago, I worked in the Multimedia Business Group for nearly three years. From the company’s perspective, Quanta clearly takes good care of its employees, offering many benefits and a good working environment. However, it cannot change the fate of the contract manufacturing industry. It depends on the business unit and level of the position: if the customer has very high demands, entry-level employees may spend the entire month in mainland China, working seven days a week without a break. This may continue until the product enters mass production, after which they might have about a month with just a little more free time. Then they have to start working on the next product again.

The salary is actually not bad, but it becomes difficult to move up after reaching the first specialist level. For most people, simply reaching that level takes far too many years....
