The supervisor (interviewer) did not clearly explain the job responsibilities and offered an unreasonably low salary, which was unacceptable.
I believe that if the job responsibilities are extremely important to the company’s future prospects (for example, helping to grow the business), then the employee should receive a fair salary. The company should not undervalue someone’s strengths and assume that they can only be paid 2xK. Simply saying that there is room for a raise without explaining how raises are determined is insufficient. The company’s current financial difficulties cannot be used as an excuse; employees should not be held responsible for a failed startup.
The company described its ambitious plans for the mainland China market, but even if the company truly succeeds, its employees will still be treated like ordinary employees. If so, what is the point of making those claims?
