I interviewed with this company just last year, and the experience was extremely poor!! During the interview, the primary interviewer asked me to introduce myself. After I explained my abilities, the manager then said that they needed someone who was very familiar with a whole range of newly emerging application systems, such as AWS/Docker.
I replied directly, “You should be looking for a super-skilled person to take on this job,” and the manager did not respond!!
Because I had initially emailed my résumé in Word format directly to HR, I do not know whether HR reviewed my qualifications to determine if they matched the requirements.
I only know that when I went for the interview, the company’s manager should have known whether I was qualified; otherwise, they would not have invited me to interview. Yet this company was clearly just fooling around: after I introduced myself, they only then told me that they wanted an exceptionally skilled candidate!!
When I sent my résumé, there was no mention whatsoever of application systems such as AWS/Docker. It only said that familiarity with Linux/FreeBSD systems was preferred, along with PHP programming, so I applied proactively. I never expected this kind of outcome!! After learning about this platform, I came here specifically to publicly share the ridiculous incident I encountered at this company last year!! First, here is my main conclusion:
1. HR/the interviewing manager had no understanding of whether the résumé I submitted met the requirements.
2. The company did not clearly explain the skills required for this position. (The addition of AWS/Docker was the result of my complaint to 104.)
3. Even though the company knew that no one would apply if it listed the requirements this way, it still posted the position like this. This shows that the company’s attitude was simply to post the opening “just in case”; there was no actual staffing need—it was merely an advertisement to deceive investors!!
