Morning sorting staff are divided into part-time and outsourced employees. From 5 a.m. to 8 a.m., outsourced employees work three hours a day at an hourly wage of 135.
The current basic hourly wage is already 133, yet they are paid only 135. Part-time employees receive a morning allowance, bringing their hourly wage to at least 160 during the eligible hours.
They do the same work as outsourced employees—loading and organizing goods onto trucks—but their pay is different. Part-time employees also receive year-end bonuses, while outsourced employees receive nothing.
Although everything complies with the Labor Standards Act, why is there unequal pay for equal work?
